Small files, explained plainly.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy explains how Storneva Health (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2018/198736/07, based at 88 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg CBD, 2001 Johannesburg, uses cookies and similar technologies across storneva.info. It applies to every page on the site, including the homepage, the three StorneVis formula pages, and the legal pages linked from the footer. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy, which explains in more detail how any personal information associated with a cookie is handled.

Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website or by a service embedded within it. Storneva uses a limited set of cookies to remember a consent choice, to support basic technical operation of the site, and, where a visitor has not opted out, to understand broad readership patterns in aggregate. Storneva does not use cookies to build an individually identifiable advertising profile of a named visitor.

2. Data collected through cookies

Cookies used on this site can record a consent decision, a session identifier used for temporary navigation, and, where analytics is enabled, an aggregate measurement value such as a randomly generated visitor identifier that is not linked to a name or email address. No cookie set directly by Storneva collects a name, a telephone number or a physical address; that kind of information is only ever collected through the contact form described in the Privacy Policy.

Where a third-party widget is embedded on a page, such as the map shown on the contact page, that provider may set its own cookie once the widget loads, under its own published terms, as described further in section 6 below.

3. Legal basis for using cookies

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function, such as a session cookie or the cookie that records a consent decision, are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a functional, secure website. Optional cookies, such as the aggregate analytics cookie described in section 5, are used only where a visitor has given consent through the on-site banner, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link.

Where consent is withdrawn or optional cookies are rejected, the site continues to function normally, since no core reading feature depends on an optional cookie.

4. Session cookies

A session cookie is created when a visitor begins browsing the site and is automatically deleted when the browser is closed. It supports temporary functions such as remembering that a cookie banner has already been shown during the current visit, and it is not designed to identify a person by name across separate visits. Session cookies are classed as strictly necessary and are not subject to the optional consent choice described in section 3.

5. Preference and analytics cookies with names and lifespans

The table below sets out the cookies currently used on storneva.info, their purpose and their approximate lifespan. This list is reviewed periodically and updated if the set of cookies in use changes.

Cookie nameCategoryPurposeLifespan
storneva_sessionSession (strictly necessary)Supports temporary navigation and remembers that the cookie banner has been shown during the current visit.Until the browser is closed
storneva_cookie_choicePreferenceRecords whether a visitor accepted, rejected or customised optional cookies.12 months
storneva_analytics_idAnalytics (optional)Supports aggregate, non-identifying measurement of page visits and general readership trends.Up to 13 months

Lifespans are approximate and may vary slightly depending on browser settings and whether a visitor clears cookies manually between visits.

6. Third-party cookies

The contact page on this site embeds a map to help visitors locate our office. That embedded provider may set its own cookies or use similar technology once the map loads, under its own published terms, and Storneva does not control the specific cookies that provider sets. Where Storneva uses an email delivery service to route messages submitted through the contact form, that service does not set a cookie on the visitor's device as part of that process.

If analytics is provided through a third-party measurement service rather than a first-party script, that service may itself be considered a third-party cookie for the purpose of browser categorisation, even though Storneva configures it to avoid building an individually identifiable profile.

7. How to manage cookie choices

Visitors can accept all optional cookies, reject optional cookies, or open detailed cookie settings through the banner that appears on first visit, and can revisit that choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link available in the banner and referenced in the footer. Most browsers also allow cookies to be viewed, blocked or deleted through browser settings, and many browsers allow a visitor to block cookies from specific sites while allowing others.

Blocking or deleting the preference cookie described in section 5 means the banner may reappear on a later visit, since the site can no longer remember the previous choice. Blocking the analytics cookie has no effect on the core reading experience of the site.

8. Retention of cookie-related records

The consent decision recorded by storneva_cookie_choice is retained for up to twelve months on the visitor's device and, where a corresponding server-side record is kept to demonstrate compliance, that server-side record is retained for thirty-six months before deletion or anonymisation. Session cookies are deleted automatically when the browser closes and are not retained elsewhere. Aggregate analytics data derived from the analytics cookie may be retained in aggregate form for up to fourteen months to support year-on-year comparison of readership trends, after which older aggregate figures are archived in a form that no longer permits association with an individual cookie identifier.

9. International transfers relating to cookie data

Where an analytics or embedded map provider processes cookie-derived information on servers located outside South Africa, Storneva takes reasonable steps to confirm that an appropriate safeguard applies to that transfer, consistent with the approach described in the Privacy Policy, including reliance on standard contractual clauses or an equivalent recognised mechanism. Storneva reviews these arrangements periodically as part of ordinary operational governance.

10. Complaints and contact procedure

Questions or concerns about this cookie policy, or a request to know more about a specific cookie in use, can be sent to [email protected] or by post to 88 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg CBD, 2001 Johannesburg. We aim to acknowledge a query within five business days and to provide a substantive response within thirty days. If you remain unsatisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the Information Regulator of South Africa, which oversees compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

11. POPIA and related principles

Cookie-related information is handled with the principles of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 in mind, including purpose limitation, meaning cookies are used only for the purposes described in this policy, and data minimisation, meaning we avoid collecting more information through a cookie than is needed for that stated purpose. Where a cookie is capable of being linked to an identifiable individual, the relevant provisions of the Privacy Policy govern that information.

12. Changes to this policy and revision log

We review this cookie policy at least once a year and update it sooner if the set of cookies in use changes, for example if a new analytics provider is adopted or an embedded widget is added to or removed from a page. The "last updated" date at the foot of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Revision log. 11 February 2026 — added the named cookie table with lifespans for storneva_session, storneva_cookie_choice and storneva_analytics_id. 30 April 2026 — clarified that blocking the analytics cookie does not affect core site functionality. 22 June 2026 — added the international transfers section and updated analytics retention to fourteen months in aggregate form.
