Editorial and supplement disclaimer

1. Scope of this document

This disclaimer applies to every page published under storneva.info, including the homepage, the three StorneVis formula pages, the methodology page, and any article, image caption or footnote that appears alongside them. It is issued by Storneva Health (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2018/198736/07, VAT registration number 4603456789, with a registered address at 88 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg CBD, 2001 Johannesburg. Storneva operates as an independent editorial resource about eye health nutrition and food supplements rather than as a medical service, a pharmacy or a retailer. Anyone reading, sharing or citing content from this site accepts the limits described below before relying on that content for a personal decision.

Where this document refers to "we", "our" or "Storneva", it means Storneva Health (Pty) Ltd and the editorial team that prepares, reviews and publishes material on its behalf. Where it refers to "you" or "the reader", it means any visitor to storneva.info regardless of location, although the site is written primarily for adults resident in South Africa. This disclaimer should be read together with the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, each of which is linked from the footer of every page.

2. Nature of the content published

Storneva publishes general background reading about nutrients such as lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamin A and zinc, and about how these nutrients are commonly described in relation to everyday eye wellness. Articles summarise publicly available nutritional information, describe declared ingredients on a formula, and place that information in the context of a balanced diet and lifestyle. None of this material is written to describe, assess or comment on any individual reader's personal circumstances, and none of it is intended to replace a conversation with an appropriately qualified professional.

Content is prepared by an internal editorial team with reference to publicly available nutrition science, ingredient declarations supplied by formulators, and general regulatory guidance applicable to food supplements in South Africa and the European Union. Where a specific nutrient function claim is used, it is limited to language permitted under Regulation (EC) No 1924/2006, and it refers strictly to the individual nutrient named, not to a StorneVis formula considered as a whole. Lutein and zeaxanthin are described only as ingredients present in a formula, since no approved nutrient function claim currently exists for either compound under that framework.

3. What this site does not do

Storneva does not diagnose, does not assess symptoms, and does not recommend a specific formula, dose or combination for any named individual. The site does not operate a consultation service, does not employ practitioners to review reader submissions, and does not offer a helpline for personal guidance. Any question submitted through the contact page will receive a general, editorial response and will not constitute individualised advice of any kind.

The site also does not sell products directly. Formula pages describe publicly declared ingredients, forms and stated amounts for editorial reference only, and do not include pricing, checkout functionality or order forms. Readers who wish to purchase a StorneVis formula should refer to the retailer or distributor channels where such formulas are made available, and should always check the current, physical packaging rather than relying solely on a web page for ingredient or dosage information, since formulations and labels can change over time without the article being updated on the same day.

4. Data collected through use of this disclaimer page

Visiting this page does not require you to submit personal information, and no form appears on it. Standard server logging still applies, as described fully in the Privacy Policy: this may include an IP address, browser type, the page requested and a timestamp, collected for security and basic operational purposes. No sensitive category of information, such as health data about a named individual, is knowingly collected through this page, and readers are asked not to submit such information through the contact form either.

Where a reader nonetheless includes health-related detail about themselves in a message sent through the contact page, that detail is treated as confidential correspondence, is retained only for as long as needed to close the enquiry, and is not used to build a profile, is not sold, and is not shared with an advertiser. Retention periods for this kind of correspondence are set out in section 4 of the Privacy Policy and currently default to twenty-four months from closure of the enquiry.

5. Legal basis for publishing this disclaimer

Storneva publishes this disclaimer to meet a legitimate interest in operating a transparent, editorially independent website and to support compliance with South African consumer protection expectations and general food-law principles applicable to how supplement-related information is presented. Where the disclaimer references processing of personal information, for example through the contact form, the legal bases described in the Privacy Policy apply in full, including consent, legitimate interest and, where relevant, performance of a request made by the reader.

Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude liability where South African law does not permit such exclusion. Where a limitation described here would otherwise be unlawful, that limitation is read down to the extent required by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and any other applicable legislation, and the remaining provisions of this document continue to apply.

6. Retention of editorial and correspondence records

Published articles are retained indefinitely as part of the public editorial archive unless a legal, regulatory or accuracy concern requires removal or amendment. Internal drafts, review notes and sourcing records used to prepare an article are retained for thirty-six months after publication to support any later accuracy review, after which they are archived or securely deleted. Correspondence relating to a correction request is retained for twenty-four months after resolution.

Where a reader asks Storneva to remove a comment they submitted about an article, that request is actioned within a reasonable period, generally within thirty days, and a record of the request itself is kept for twelve months so that the same request is not duplicated or misapplied later. These periods mirror the retention framework described in the Privacy Policy and are reviewed on an annual basis.

7. Your rights in relation to this disclaimer

If you believe a page contains a factual error, an outdated ingredient reference, or a claim that does not match the approved wording described in section 2, you may request a correction at any time. Requests should be sent to [email protected] with a description of the specific page, the specific sentence and the reason a correction is requested. The editorial team aims to acknowledge a correction request within five business days and to resolve straightforward factual corrections within thirty days.

You also retain the rights described in the Privacy Policy in relation to any personal information you have submitted, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator if you believe those rights have not been respected. Exercising a right under this section does not affect any other right you may have under South African law.

8. Third-party processors and services named

Storneva relies on a small number of external service providers to keep the website operational. These include a hosting provider responsible for serving the site's files and processing request logs, an email delivery service used to route messages sent through the contact form, and, where enabled, a privacy-conscious analytics service used to understand aggregate readership without building an individual profile of a named reader. None of these providers is authorised to use information obtained through storneva.info for their own independent marketing purposes.

Where a formula page references a map or an embedded third-party widget, that provider operates under its own published terms and may set its own cookies or collect its own technical data, as described further in the Cookie Policy. Storneva selects processors that state a commitment to appropriate technical and organisational security measures, and reviews that commitment periodically as part of ordinary operational governance.

9. International transfers of information

Some of the service providers named in section 8 may process information on servers located outside South Africa, including within the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, Storneva relies on the relevant provider's published data protection safeguards, which may include standard contractual clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism recognised for the purpose of cross-border transfer. Storneva does not transfer personal information to a jurisdiction that lacks a recognised legal basis for such a transfer without first confirming that an appropriate safeguard is in place.

If you would like more detail about a specific transfer relevant to information you have submitted, you may request this by writing to [email protected], and the editorial team will provide a general description of the safeguard relied upon within a reasonable period, typically within thirty days of the request being received.

10. Complaints procedure and response times

Any concern about this disclaimer, about an article's accuracy, or about how personal information has been handled should first be raised directly with Storneva by email at [email protected] or by post to 88 Commissioner Street, Johannesburg CBD, 2001 Johannesburg. Please include enough detail for the editorial team to locate the relevant page or record, such as a page title, a date, or a copy of a previous message. An acknowledgement is generally sent within five business days, and a substantive response is generally provided within thirty days, consistent with the timelines described in the Privacy Policy.

If a concern relates specifically to personal information and cannot be resolved directly with Storneva, you may refer the matter to the Information Regulator of South Africa, which oversees compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. Contact details for the Information Regulator are published on its official website. Raising a concern with Storneva first is encouraged, since many issues can be resolved quickly through direct correspondence, but doing so is not a precondition for contacting the regulator.

11. Relationship to formulators and distributors

Storneva is an editorial publisher and is not the manufacturer of the StorneVis Lutein, StorneVis A+Zinc or StorneVis Complete formulas described on this site. Ingredient declarations shown on formula pages are supplied for editorial reference and are cross-checked against publicly available labelling information where possible, but responsibility for the accuracy of a physical product label rests with the manufacturer or distributor placing that product on the market. Storneva does not warrant that a formula's composition remains identical to the description on this website at every point in time.

Readers who have a question about a specific batch, a specific label, or a specific delivery should direct that question to the relevant distributor rather than to Storneva's editorial team, since Storneva does not hold order records, batch records or delivery records for any third-party seller.

12. Regulatory references

Where this disclaimer or any linked page refers to a regulator or a piece of legislation, the reference is descriptive and is provided so that readers can locate the relevant authority themselves. Relevant references for South African readers include the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA), which oversees the classification of health products, the Information Regulator, which oversees the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, and the National Consumer Commission, which oversees the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Nothing in this disclaimer should be read as a statement made on behalf of any of these bodies.

13. Changes to this disclaimer

Storneva reviews this disclaimer at least once a year and may update it sooner if a change in regulatory guidance, editorial practice or service provider makes an update necessary. Material changes are reflected in the revision log below, and the "last updated" date at the foot of this page is amended whenever a change is published. Continued use of storneva.info after a revised disclaimer is published means the revised version applies to your use of the site from that date.

Revision log. 14 January 2026 — clarified the description of nutrient function claims and their limitation to individual nutrients. 3 March 2026 — added the section describing the relationship between Storneva and third-party formulators and distributors. 22 June 2026 — updated retention periods for editorial sourcing records to thirty-six months and added the international transfers section.
